An Unique Opportunity to Test and Trial Wireless Services Using Ireland’s Radio Spectrum
Ireland has relative abundance of uncongested radio spectrum and Ireland’s Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) is making this spectrum available for testing and trialing innovative new systems and services. Wireless communications’ manufacturers, operators and researchers can now test or trial products in a live field environment under real-world conditions using Ireland radio spectrum instead of in a laboratory environment.
Having this valuable resource available is important for wireless and mobile manufacturers who want to the test and trial new mobile equipment to make sure it works under true market conditions. Application service providers who want to trial a new wireless service such as mobile TV or other services before taking the decision to deploy them commercially and R&D companies who wish to test and trial wireless ideas and products at pre-market stages will find this resource invaluable in perfecting services and products before they are launched live to the market.
